About

BYOT, or Bring Your Own Technology, stands for a school implemenation plan that allows for its students to bring their own technology to the classroom.  However, BYOT is much more than bringing a device to school.  Technology can transform the way the classrooms operate.  With devices, students can create artifacts that exemlpify and augment their learning.  Devices can help to differentiate students, or group them together for activities.  Instead of reinforcing the current classroom structure, think about how you can leverage the device to promote change.

That's where this site comes in.  Here, teachers will be able to find ideas to push against students simply using devices to comsume information, and into communication and creation.  The lesson tutorials and student examples are a great start.  Also, administation can download the necessary forms that are essentail when becoming BYOT.  These forms include frequently asked questions, rationalte, and permission forms.  Check back on the website to be linked with other great teachers and administrators from around the world, with the social media link.

There are many ideas about how to use technology in schools to promote student-centered learning.  This site is a great start, on your way to becoming BYOT.
